Hydrogen Training Course: Level 1 (Build Your Base)

Master the fundamentals, gain essential skills, and develop a solid foundation for further exploration.

Hydrogen Safe offers the UK’s first Ofqual registered hydrogen qualification.

This hydrogen training course can be delivered independently or as an additional ‘credit’ to other training provision or professional development plan within an education environment or business.

It is inclusive and flexible to encourage as many people as possible to equip themselves with the skills they will need to work in the green energy sector.

The Level 1 course is split into two units.

Unit 1: Hydrogen Fundamentals

  • Module 1 – Understand the production properties of hydrogen
  • Module 2 – Understand the requirement for safe storage and transportation of hydrogen
  • Module 3 – Understand current hydrogen policies and the benefits of hydrogen adoption

Unit 2: Hydrogen Safety

  • Module 1 Know the principles of risk assessment in the context of safe storage and transportation of hydrogen.
  • Module 2 Know the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace, specifically in relation to the storage and transportation of hydrogen
  • Module 3 Understand the risks to health associated with working with hydrogen
  • Module 4 Know the importance of working around hydrogen safely.

Am I suitable for this course?
This course is suitable for anyone interested in learning about hydrogen. The content covered in Level 1 is introductory and provides an understanding of the fundamentals of hydrogen and a surface level understanding of hydrogen safety practices.

What will I learn?
Upon completion of the Level 1 Award, you will gain a general understanding about hydrogen production methods and properties, safety practices when working with, storing or transporting hydrogen and the importance of working safely with hydrogen. You will have a basic understanding of each topic covered to ensure you can identify good practice when required.

What are the entry requirements?
This is an entry level qualification and therefore there are no entry requirements

What is the qualification?

  • Level 1 Award in Introduction to Hydrogen Safety Practises
  • Qualification Aim Reference: 610/3051/X
  • This is an Ofqual regulated qualification
  • The Awarding Organisation is TLM.

How soon will I complete this course?
2 days of guided study with a specialist training instructor. You will need to spend time self-studying/revising for the assessment

Assessment
One final, end of course assessment consisting of only multiple choice questions.
